Spider Smile

Hands down, Bella wins! Isn't she adorable?!
This was taken on my trip to Seattle in October (while Jake was in Israel for 10 days!) Isabella's signature "spider smile". Not sure where she learned it, or even why she's thinking about how spider's smile, but so the world knows: THIS is how they do it. :D

She's my beautiful Isabella Marie! My little "Monkey Madness".

Day 6: A photo that makes me laugh.

Rolls and Rolls

I'm quickly realizing my sweet girl is taking after her momma in the rolls department - and well, she looks pretty adorable in them! Day 5: A Photo of Me!

Southern Hospitality

TEXAS
I'm a day late on this post (don't tell Lauren or Marie!!!)
The last place I went on vacation was TEXAS! And it was awesome. It was my first time travelling alone with Annabelle, so I was pretty nervous, but now having done that I can pretty much do anything. SUPER MOM! ... right? :)
Well, it really wasn't that hard. She slept the whole way there. And the whole way back. Piece of cake.

It was so special for the baby cousins to meet! Their next rendez-vous: Christmas!!! More specifically December 23 - 26 in WA. Can you tell I'm excited? I'm contemplating making a chain to count down the days - I can.not.WAIT! The whole family will be together in one place with all the cousins - and guess what Annabelle and Juliette get to be in the Christmas nativity? Well, Bella and Liam will play Joseph and Mary. Cole gets to be sweet baby Jesus, ..... and Annabelle and Juliette get to be lovely sheep.

Yup. Sheep :) Why not angels, you say? Ooh, because sheep come so much more naturally to them :D
I'm excited! :)

Cousins first bath together:

We had so much fun together!!
And then Marie, Will, and Juliette came later that week and made it the best little sister reunion (Lissie, we missed you!)
I got to make everyone a yummy German dish, to which Will complimented "this tastes better than a German dish served in a German restaurant" ---- HOLLA!! That's the best (and my favorite) compliment ever!!!!

Lauren and I went SHOPPING! Dyed our hair. Blog-stalked. Reconstructed my blog (thanks LuLu!!). Hung out with Bekah and Jordan. Had a dessert night, where Annabelle was quite the star with her "running" skills ;). Ate flax - yum. Took lots of pictures. But mostly: had nursing parties!!!!
Nursing parties: make nursing so much more fun, and go by so much faster! One day, we'll all be neighbors and host nursing parties (note: by special invitation only/must be a sister)

I love love loved Texas, and was pleasantly surprised by the southern hospitality! Somehow, coming from Provo, UT I didn't expect to see much "mormon kindness", but Texans do it even better! From the second I got to Dallas, we were treated like top of the line guests!

Aunt LuLu, we miss you tons!

Happy Times

Day 3: A photo that makes you happy :)

Lots of things make me happy, but here are just a few:

Little Miss ... oops! I forgot her name. But isn't she adorable? This gummy-grinned girl went to the summer camp that Lauren and I were counselors at summer of 2008. That was a fun yet tiring summer: imagine having 50+ ADD/ADHD kids running around like crazy people all.summer.long. And then imagine taking them places. Public places... like the ZOO and THEME PARKS where German teenagers think it's fun to pick on the little American kids, but don't realize they're being protected by two American white girls that understand their German insults and, to the snooty little German's surprise, tell them to whizz off! That's when you get the real looks of admiration from little sweethearts like the above adorable girl.
Why does this picture make me happy? Because how could you not smile at this toothless beauty that lisps like there's no tomorrow? Well, you just can't. She makes me happy.

Happy time #2: Spending the summer with my beautiful little Isabella Marie - summer of 2006 (?)
I very vividly remember the day Marie called me with her good news: she was expecting!! I don't think I could describe to anyone the happiness that filled my body, but I will tell you I was an absolute mess on the phone. I was just SO happy!! Tears of happiness? More like sobs of happiness. (And not the cute kind) My mom will tell you that I've always loved babies, and it's true. They're just so cute!! And to hear that Marie was going to actually have one was too much for me to handle. I seriously felt like I was going to explode with joy!
She's been one of my favorite blessings ever since.

Dog-Lover?
I love this picture, because it proves how far I've come: I used to be a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y terrified of dogs. Didn't matter the size - I HATED them. Why? Oh, only because I was nearly attacked by a huge Beethoven dog when I was 4 or 5. (Luckily Marie was there to save me from the hideous thing as I lept up into her arms)
Fifteen years later things are a little different and I'm letting the DOG leap into MY arms. Talk about conquering your fears!!
Now I want a dog. For reals!!! I want this dog in particular: Australian Shepherd.
(Anyone having pups?)

How is it that I've forgotten all my SAS kids' names?
Well, here's another one of my favorites! :) This girl was seriously the HAPPIEST little girl ever. She was the little comedian of that summer, always saying things like: Miss Emma, you're so cute. Haha.

I miss her!

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 3: check!

Red Lobster Lovelies

A picture of me a year ago: ta-da!
Well, this is from January 26th, 2010; somehow I didn't document my life in February.
So here I am with my Red Lobster co-workers (L-R): Me, Morgan, Jasmine, and Chelsea!
I love these girls. I started hostessing at Red Lobster in March 2009 when I met these lovely ladies. They've all turned 21 since, and have graduated to server-status :)
Morgan's super smiley and nice all the time!
Jasmine's amazing! And so so gorgeous!
Chelsea's just plain crazy hilarious!

I love these girls!

And look at me: I'm posting at 11:16pm with 44 minutes to spare before Lauren and Marie get on my back ;)

Side note: Our good friend Will Rubio gave us a FREE white dresser Tuesday night :D I've been shopping KSL for a good deal and thankfully didn't settle for one, because this one is free and perfect! I'm refinishing it and could use any tips out there.
So far I have this peeler stuff that you paint on, let sit 15 min, and then peel off the old paint so the new fresh coat can go on :)
Has anyone seen the beautiful table Marie refinished? If not you can see it here: http://maggab.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html (scroll down a bit)

She's been giving me great advice, and I can always use more.
I'm wanting to paint it white, and maybe give it a hint of green? It's going in Annabelle's room and her colors are soft pastel green and pink and white. Should I just do it a completely different color altogether?
I'm opening this up for discussion. Starting now.

Love, Emma :)

Photo Challenge aka Something to get me blogging!!

This is my sweet baby girl: Annabelle Sue.
She's my two-month old now -- TWO MONTHS! Didn't I just have her?
She smiles all day long, tells me stories every five minutes, and has the strongest (and chubbiest) little legs! And even though her Asian grandma thinks otherwise, she is truly my little Asian baby :) Picture this girl with dark skin - straight up Filipino, right? ;)

I got this 30 day photo challenge from Lauren's blog - I'm trying to be more like her and post more often, and this little list will hopefully aid my blogging desires in more of a take-off.

Did any of you know that you can order you blog in book format? Yeah, my mom did it and it's the cutest/most important keepsake you could have: a journal of your thoughts, memories, and pictures throughout the year. So, trying to be more like my mom I'm going to order one at the end of the year as well, but first I need to be more like Lauren and actually blog.
(Marie, Lissie, Christian, Bryant, Matthew, dad: I'm trying to be more like you too!)

Back to this list challenge - I'm not sure what the challenge entails entirely, but I'll just go with describing the picture (that seems logical, right?)

Well, I already told you who she is -- my newest best friend!
This photo was taken by her amazing Aunt Marie.
About three weeks ago my dad flew me out to Irving, TX to visit Lauren and her precious baby boy, Cole, and of course I booked my trip for the same week Marie would be there too :)
She arrived Wednesday afternoon, and I left Friday morning so we didn't have much daylight together - and a good photographer knows you need beautiful lighting for beautiful pictures. So - we had a quick photo-shoot almost as soon as she walked in the door. Per Grandma Lisa's request: one picture of all three baby cousins - Juliette, Annabelle, and Cole.
Well we tried, and tried. And then nursed, and tried some more. {We probably got one or two good ones} It's hard to keep 3 babies happy, especially when two are newborns, and the third is almost one! {But boy, did Juliette love her baby cousins! Especially their faces} Hehe.

So there goes Wednesday - day 1 with Marie. Thursday she actually had to do what she came to TX at all for {go to a convention for her husband's flower business} - day 2 {more like evening} with Marie.
FRIDAY - day 3 (more like morning) with Marie. Sweet, beautiful, kind Aunt Marie got up bright and early to capture some beautiful photos with the soft morning light of my little tiny. And hence: this breathtaking photograph.

Thank you, Aunt Marie!
